This Blog describes my adventures in Clock acquisition and repair.

1. Guta Art Deco Mantel Clock. 6" Dial
This was my first acquisition. I got it on 8/6/2000 from an Antique Dealer in Long Beach, California. It required a complete tear down, cleaning and re-bushing.
When I retired in 2002 after working for 50 years in the valve industry, I was looking for something to keep me occupied. During my working years I became experienced with machine shop practices while training as a mechanical engineer. I also enjoyed a woodworking hobby for many years. These hands-on skills, along with some good books on clock repair gave me the ability to dismantle, repair and re-assemble old clocks.
